If you have signed up for 8Dweb Hosting and you are using a domain name you have registered via GoDaddy.com you will need to make sure the Name Servers are correctly registered at GoDaddy.

This change can be performed directly by the domain owner via the Network Solutions website.

The steps you must follow are:

  1. Go to the GoDaddy site at http://www.godaddy.com
  2. Click the "My Account" link
  3. Enter your Login Name or Customer Number and click the Login button
  4. Under "Manage Your Accounts" pull down the drop down menu next to the domain you wish to modify and select "Name Servers"
  5. Click "Go"
  6. Make your name server changes

Once you have inserted our name servers you're done. At this point it's just a matter of time until your domain begins to resolve to your 8dweb Hosting account. On average it takes around 24 - 72 hours for name server changes to propagate and sometimes longer. During the initial period after a name server change it's not uncommon depending on their location and what ISP they are using for some visitors to successfully reach the new location while others may still find the domain to resolve to the old location (if any). This is due to the fact that the time it takes for news of the name server change to reach all of the DNS servers worldwide varies.
